The Role
Riverton PS is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and dynamic Physical Education Teacher to join our team. The successful applicant would be responsible for delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate Physical Education lessons from Year 1 to Year 6. A key focus of this role is the explicit teaching of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS), particularly in the junior years, to build strong foundations for lifelong physical activity and improved student outcomes.
The ideal applicant will display a deep understanding of FMS and be committed to fostering physical literacy through evidence-based teaching practices. This role requires alignment with the Department of Education's Quality Teaching Strategy and Teaching for Impact Framework, ensuring that all students are supported to achieve their full potential.
Strong organisational skills are important. The successful applicant would plan, coordinate, and deliver a variety of school-wide sporting programs, including whole-school events, interschool competitions, and excursions.
