Our game is for everyone, and we strive to be a workplace for everyone.  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.  ABOUT THE ROLE The Event Safety Officer, as a member of the Legal and Regulatory team, is responsible for supporting the safe delivery of major events (including AFL, concerts and other sporting events) at Marvel Stadium.  Please note this is a casual position, requiring availability on weeknights and weekends.  A DAY IN THE LIFE OF  Key Accountabilities: Support the WHS Lead - Marvel Stadium with the management of workplace safety at Marvel Stadium during event and non-event days/nights Immediate incident management response In the event of an incident or emergency, provide support as directed by the Chief Warden Play a key supporting role in building safety awareness and competency across Marvel Stadium  OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER  Core Competencies: Experience supporting health and safety programs, with a focus on event safety management A proven ability to propose practical solutions to OHS issues considering relevant legislation, standards and guidance materials Well-developed oral and written communication skills Self-motivated, innovative, results and performance driven Demonstrated skills in program delivery, quality management, risk and safety Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions Excellent time management and organisation skills, including the ability to prioritise work in a busy environment  Mandatory: Demonstrated experience in incident management across relevant industries A sound knowledge of Victorian health and safety legislation, regulations and codes or practice Experience in conducting investigations, risk assessments and emergency management Excellent stakeholder engagement track record Strong IT skills  Desirable: Safety management experience in major events and/or at large capacity venues Current First aid and CPR qualifications Emergency Management training (e.g. Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation course) Place of Public Entertainment (POPE) Event Safety Officer qualification  OUR CULTURE Please visit www.afl.com.au/careers/our-organisation  Applications close: 7 August 2025
