The Cybersecurity Practice within FTI Consulting offers independent cyber and risk management advisory services, including Cyber Proactive services, Cyber Risk Advisory, Incident Response, Complex Investigations & Litigation.
We are seeking a Director (5‐9 years' experience) to support the growth of our Cybersecurity Services practice in Sydney. The role requires an experienced professional who delivers high quality client deliverables and works with senior leadership to identify business growth opportunities. The Director will directly support the Senior Managing Director – Proactive Cyber services and will have breadth across client delivery, business development and cybersecurity.
What You'll Do
* Act as a key point of contact to support the Senior Managing Director with delivery of high quality client deliverables and outcomes.
* Lead the engagement delivery of Virtual CISO engagements and lead small to medium sized client engagements, acting as the main point of contact for cyber advisory services.
* Drive client delivery across cyber resilience, business continuity, cyber incident response plans, cyber strategy development, program transformation and delivery, data classification and protection programs, AI governance and AI security.
* Support clients in achieving compliance to regulations (e.g. CPS230, CPS234, SOCI) by delivering actionable outcomes that meet security standards and frameworks.
* Develop client deliverables and business development artefacts, leveraging junior staff, to deliver high quality client artefacts.
* Conduct assessments against security frameworks such as NIST CSF, Essential 8, ISO27001, AESCF, and develop prioritized roadmaps to remediate identified gaps.
* Support cyber risk reporting initiatives that translate technical control and governance gaps into improved cyber risk and board reporting.
* Manage and coach a small team that will deliver on the engagements.
* Produce accurate, concise documentation and report writing delivered in a timely manner to a large, sophisticated client base including top-tier law firms, financial institutions and corporate enterprises.
* Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, threats, methodologies and core technologies to design appropriate technical, compliance and governance solutions and services.
* Contribute to the assessment of current threat identification techniques and development of new methodologies and frameworks.
* Perform a wide range of cybersecurity engagements in a fast‐paced, deadline‐driven environment.

Qualifications & Experience

* Degree, post‐graduate or tertiary qualifications in cybersecurity or a similar technology discipline, or agreed equivalent experience.
* 5–8 years of cybersecurity experience, with experience in both consulting and industry roles advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills, including professional report writing that is client‐ready, presentation skills, and written skills.
* Experience in compliance with regulatory standards in the Financial Services sector is desirable.
* Experience with cyber risk quantification is an advantage.
* Well versed in developing business proposals and pitches and able to support business development activities in addition to client delivery.
* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, delivering effectively and to quality across multiple matters within a tight deadline.
* Works autonomously, leads client conversations and directs other team members.
* Ability to work with senior team members and clients in time‐sensitive situations.
* A strong work ethic, integrity and a high level of professionalism.
* Travel to FTI Consulting's interstate and/or client locations as required.
