Offer description

Overview

Step into a high-impact advisory role where you'll support Australian broadacre growers in making confident marketing and risk decisions. You'll manage a portfolio of clients, helping them maximise opportunities in converting grain to cash effectively, and grow trusted relationships - backed by a respected team, senior mentorship, and a national platform known for excellence in commodity risk management.

Why Pinion Advisory?

Pinion Advisory is a leading agribusiness, water, and environmental consulting firm that helps clients unlock the potential of their people, businesses, industries, and natural resources. Our advisors bring deep expertise in food and agricultural production, family agribusiness, commodity risk management, and comprehensive water resource management.

Through a global partnership with Pinion (U.S.), we combine local expertise with global reach - delivering impactful strategies, forward thinking solutions, and a professional, collaborative approach that consistently meets high technical standards while supporting long-term resilience and competitiveness.

What You'll Be Doing
* Manage a portfolio of broadacre clients, build strong commercial relationships, and become their primary contact for marketing discussions.
* Understand each grower's business, capacity, and exposure, and guide them through converting commodities to cash, balancing pricing opportunities, delivery options, and risk appetite.
* Maintain regular client communication through calls, meetings, and timely responsiveness - especially during periods of market movement.
* Manage and grow the Pinion client book through existing warm leads and relationship expansion as you build trust.
* Support adjacent areas in market intelligence, price discovery and supply chain coordination, and/or project involvement depending on your skills and interests.
* Operate within the natural rhythm of commodity markets: structured mornings for planning and client prep; reactive afternoons aligned with market activity.
What You'll Need For This Position
* 3–5 years' experience in agribusiness roles such as originator/accumulator, logistics or supply chain coordination, trading support, or similar environments.
* Understanding of, or strong aptitude to learn, grain and oilseed markets and grower-facing commercial decision-making.
* Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities - comfortable handling multiple moving parts, especially when markets or logistics change quickly.
* Strong relationship and communication skills, with the ability to balance assertiveness and diplomacy to get deals across the line while maintaining trust.
* Critical thinking skills and judgement - able to analyse pricing, weigh trade-offs, and translate complexity into clear advice.
* Digital fluency in learning new technology. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
* Degree in agribusiness, commerce, economics, supply chain, or related fields preferred.
* Current driver's licence and willingness to travel (~10%).
What's In It For You
* Remote, Office, Hybrid working flexibility with preference for SA, plus ~10% travel for clients and events.
* A rare learning environment - the scale and depth of the team means you can truly develop the craft of commodity risk management.
* Ongoing development opportunities, senior mentorship, and the ability to grow into broader advisory or senior roles over time.
* A respected team and brand - the market knows and trusts the Pinion Advisory approach.
