**The Position**
Working in the Research School of Chemistry, the Technical Services and Work Health Safety Manager provides leadership and expertise in all aspects of School technical operations and Work Health and Safety as they relate to experimental research and teaching in the Chemistry discipline and will be responsible for the oversight of the School research and teaching laboratories, analytical facilities, workshops and building infrastructure.
Research in the RSC is supported by excellent infrastructure and facilities, with strong commitment to Work Health and Safety, each managed and supported by dedicated technical and professional staff. This position will provide management oversight of the technical staff who support several facilities, including:
- Magnetic Resonance Facility (MRF);
- X-ray Diffraction Facility (XDF);
- Biopolymer and Polymer Facility (BPF);
- Separation and Reaction Facility (SRF);
- Laser and Spectrophotometer Facility (LSF); and
- School Workshops Facilities.
**The Person**
- management and maintenance of building infrastructure and research equipment; and/or
- procurement and commissioning of sophisticated equipment; and/or
- tendering and contract negotiations.
