Overview
Senior Investment Analyst – Portfolio Risk role at HESTA. The Senior Investment Analyst – Portfolio Risk plays a key role in the Portfolio Design team by supporting the development and maintenance of high-quality risk models and analytics to monitor, stress and inform investment risk taking.
In this role you will support the whole fund multi-asset class ex-ante risk models, including portfolio risk mapping, stress and scenarios testing, and risk playbooks. You will maintain a comprehensive long-term risk budgeting model and assist with customised risk dashboards to succinctly convey both qualitative and quantitative risk settings for each Investment Option available to our members. Working with the broader Portfolio Design team, you will have the opportunity to research volatility correlation and return distribution profiles and assist with options-specific DAA or risk overlay trades to manage near-term exposure, peer and regulatory risk. You will also assist with the development of capital market assumptions, portfolio stress testing, scenario modelling, cash flow and liquidity modelling.
Responsibilities
* Support the development and maintenance of ex-ante risk models for a multi-asset fund.
* Conduct portfolio risk mapping, stress testing, and scenario testing; contribute to risk playbooks.
* Maintain a long-term risk budgeting model and assist with customised risk dashboards for Investment Options.
* Research volatility, correlations and return distributions; assist with risk overlay trades to manage near-term exposure.
* Develop capital market assumptions, conduct portfolio stress testing, scenario modelling, and liquidity/cash flow modelling.
About you / Qualifications
* Strong experience in an investment risk role with working knowledge of investment risk management related to portfolio positioning.
* Sound understanding of different asset classes and how economic data and policies influence financial markets.
* Technical skills: Python, Matlab, R, Excel, Visual Basic (or equivalent); ability to research, analyse and present investment findings and asset allocation recommendations clearly in written and verbal form.
