This is a full-time, office role for an Estimator specialising in structural steel.
The role is replacing our senior Estimator who is retiring after 10 years of service.
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates, analysing project requirements, interpreting technical drawings and specifications, and collaborating with Client Estimators. Additional responsibilities include engaging with suppliers and sub-contractors for pricing, assisting in bid preparation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. The role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Qualifications
* Experience with structural steel estimation, material take-offs, and project costing
* Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyse architectural and structural drawings
* Proficiency in tools such as estimating software, MS Excel, and other relevant technologies
* Project coordination skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering and project management teams
* Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
* Analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Knowledge of Australian building codes and standards, particularly those related to structural steel
* Experience in the construction or steel fabrication industry is highly regarded
