About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to take a lead role in the delivery of large-scale solar and BESS projects. This is an opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of utility-scale renewable energy developments, from concept through to commissioning.
In this role, you'll provide strategic leadership and hands-on technical guidance, overseeing the engineering function and coordinating internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead engineering efforts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to timelines.
* Support business development activities and stakeholder engagement to contribute to project pipeline growth.
* Oversee the creation and review of project schedules, cost estimates, energy yield models, and supplier quotations.
* Provide technical expertise in HV protection and control, and play a key role during commissioning phases.
* Manage grid connection processes and collaborate with utilities and consultants to deliver optimal interconnection solutions.
* Develop accurate cost estimates for EPC tenders and review project scopes and technical requirements.
* Coordinate external engineering consultants, surveyors, and specialists to support project design and delivery.
* Guide internal and external designers on drawing packages and ensure high-quality project documentation.
* Work closely with the construction and operations teams to optimise procurement, site execution, and project controls.
* Continuously identify opportunities to improve designs, processes, and project outcomes.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in PV or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
* 10+ years of engineering experience in the commercial, industrial or utility-scale solar sector.
* Minimum of 5 years in the design, construction, and commissioning of PV or BESS plants.
* Proficiency in design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, Cablizer, PowerFactory, and PVsyst.
* Strong understanding of HV systems, including protection and control.
* Demonstrated experience managing projects from concept to completion.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
