We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Technician to support the manufacture of our innovative composite solar technology. The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate III qualification in Engineering and have approximately 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with experience soldering electrical or electronic components.
Job Responsibilities:
• Perform electrical soldering of solar cells and associated components supporting the assembly and manufacture of high-quality solar technology products.
• Electrically integrate raw solar cells as part of the dry-fibre layup.
• Handle glass fibre fabrics, resins, adhesives, and related composite materials safely and efficiently.
• Operate manufacturing machinery, hand tools, and equipment following established safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Conduct quality inspections on components and finished assemblies, ensuring adherence to strict quality standards.
• Assist in the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of CNC machining and tooling.
• Conduct production acceptance testing of the final product.
• Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify and resolve production issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with advanced composite manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required skills / experience:
• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical, Fabrication, or related discipline).
• Approximately 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within electrical and or electronics industries.
• Experience soldering to a high degree of quality and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and problem-solving abilities.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Good communication skills and a proactive, positive approach.
Desirable qualifications/ experience:
• Familiarity with automated manufacturing systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
• Prior experience in renewable energy manufacturing environments.
