About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Kitchen Assistant. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.
This role involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing and serving meals to residents. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask effectively, work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic team environment.
* Maintain accurate Food Safety Records.
* Set up kitchen and dining room for meal service, ensuring all equipment is clean and ready for use.
* Prepare and serve meals to residents, adhering to dietary requirements and preferences.
* Hand out and collect meal trays, ensuring efficient delivery and collection.
* Make and distribute tea/coffee and fluids to residents, maintaining a high level of customer service.
* Collect and wash fluid jugs and dishes used during meal service, adhering to cleaning schedules.
* Complete orders, cook/chill meals, and manage miscellaneous food supplies, maintaining inventory levels and ordering stock as required.
Key Responsibilities
Food Services:
* Mop floors as required, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
* Vacuum according to the cleaning schedule, ensuring all areas are clean and tidy.
* Collect and dispose of rubbish, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Clean lockers and over bed tables in resident rooms, maintaining a high level of personal care.
* Clean bathrooms and toilets as needed, adhering to infection control procedures.
* Spot clean and dust surfaces, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
* Clean windows in common areas, ensuring clear visibility and a welcoming atmosphere.
* Clean resident rooms and common areas according to the cleaning schedule, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
* Launder resident clothing, ensuring prompt and efficient turnaround times.
Skills and Experience:
* Familiarity with Basic Food Safety Practices (HLTFSE001) is essential.
* Demonstrated person-centred care and respectful approach to patients, visitors and staff.
* Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial, but is not essential.
