Government Relations Manager Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team as a Government Relations Manager. In this role, you will play a key part in executing advocacy efforts with regulators, policy makers and industry bodies in Australia.
You will be responsible for supporting senior government relations representatives and broader management with political and legislative analysis. You will also support advocacy efforts on legislative and regulatory priorities including writing submissions and responses to Government consultations.
In addition, you will provide high-quality verbal and written reports on assigned issues and activities. You will advance the interests of our clients and crew with policymakers and regulators based in Australia.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting senior government relations representatives and broader management with political and legislative analysis.
2. Supporting advocacy efforts on legislative and regulatory priorities including writing submissions and responses to Government consultations.
3. Providing high-quality verbal and written reports on assigned issues and activities.
4. Advancing the interests of our clients and crew with policymakers and regulators based in Australia.
5. Establishing, nurturing and deepening relationships with select policymakers, regulators and their staff.
6. Strategically engaging with appropriate coalitions, trade associations, external stakeholders, consultants, and others.
7. Working closely with senior members of our government relations team to develop and execute strategic objectives.
8. Managing board reporting, workflow dashboards and CRM systems.
9. Participating in special projects and performing other activities as assigned.
We are looking for an individual who has a strong understanding of how policymaking and/or regulation works in Australia. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work productively in a team-oriented work environment.
In terms of qualifications, we require an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of related business experience is also necessary. You will have excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as strong PC skills (Microsoft Office, including Excel).
