About the Role
Reporting to the Coordinator Workshop this role is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of Council services by participating and leading the activities of the mechanical workshop team and ensure safe systems of work, incident reporting, safe operating procedures and risk management practices are implemented and adhered to in line with safety standards and regulations.
This role will also be responsible for maintaining and repairing Council's large plant, tractors, heavy vehicles, light vehicles and other plant and equipment and assist in the day to day functioning of the workshop ensuring repairs on Council's plant and equipment conform to SafeWork NSW, TfNSW, NHVR and Australian Standards.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology/ Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or related discipline and contemporary industry knowledge and demonstrated experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of heavy plant and equipment including heavy and light vehicles. You will also have demonstrated experience and ability to supervise, coach and support staff in their day to day activities.
The following licences/ tickets would also be required.
1. Current Class HR Driver's Licence or willingness to obtain.
2. TfNSW Heavy and Light Vehicle Inspection Certificate.
Benefits
This is a permanent full-time role working 38 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $79,951 - $88,746 per year based on experience + 11% p.a superannuation.Council also offers a range of other benefits for its employees including:
