* Clerk Grade 7/8
* Full-Time Temporary to 30 September 2026
* Parramatta or Orange location with hybrid working – weekly attendance

About the team

This newly established team's purpose is to support the delivery of the strategic roadmap to consolidate and harmonise shared services operations and systems across the NSW public sector.
Involving the consolidation of ERP systems and processes, IT service and incident management and travel and expense management, the program will lead to a better employee experience and enable more efficient sector mobility. Additionally, common, streamlined and efficient processes will allow our people to better focus on our customers.

The Business Analyst will identify, analyse and document business processes, systems, and other functional requirements to support efficient delivery of business operations and performance in line with organisational strategies and operational plans.

Your day-to-day

Reporting to the Principal Project Manager - Government Shared Services, your role will:

• Identify, analyse and translate business processes, technical functions and a broad range of data from disparate datasets into meaningful insights to identify valuable opportunities to enhance business performance
• Investigate problems, analyse options and provide recommendations for new and existing services, new initiatives, strategies and products to improve compliance, effectiveness and to address risks
• Deliver targeted data driven insights into the underlying drivers of commercial outcomes to translate complex analysis into meaningful insights and develop appropriate recommendations to support decision making
• Manage and monitor relationships with, and between, stakeholders to engage with users to understand and analyse solutions to business problems, collate needs and research fit for purpose solutions
• Review and propose business improvements and contribute to the development, facilitation, coordination and communication of initiatives and strategies to ensure organisational consistency and adoption of best practice
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to gain/maintain specialist and business knowledge and to facilitate scoping and setting of business priorities

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

1. Business Analysis & Process Mapping

* Ability to identify, analyse and document business processes end‐to‐end.
* Skilled in mapping current vs. future state processes and identifying inefficiencies or improvement opportunities.

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

* Skilled in building and maintaining effective relationships with technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
* Ability to facilitate discussions, gather requirements, and influence business priorities.

3. Problem‐Solving & Solution Design

* Able to analyse issues, assess impacts, and design fit‐for‐purpose solutions that align with business and strategic goals.
* Experience contributing to or coordinating improvement initiatives.

4. Communication & Presentation Skills

* Ability to translate complex concepts into easy‐to‐understand language for executives, delivery teams, and operational staff.
* Strong written communication skills for drafting analysis, reports, and recommendations.
