Position Overview
The Retail Store Manager will be responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and smooth running of the store. This includes managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining stock and merchandising standards, and achieving sales and business targets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for retail and community engagement.

Location – Regional This store is in Far North Queensland and is the lifeblood of a regional Farming and Dairy community. It is a 1-hour drive to a large regional city called Cairns; the successful applicant would need to be happy in a tourist town that certainly keeps you busy. Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage all day-to-day store operations.
* Lead, motivate, and develop team members to achieve performance goals.
* Deliver excellent customer service and handle escalated customer concerns professionally.
* Plan and execute merchandising strategies to maximise sales and profitability.
* Monitor and manage store budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
* Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety standards and FoodWorks policies.
* Ensure accurate stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
* Coordinate promotional activities, local marketing, and community events.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience as a Store Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar role in a retail or supermarket environment.
* Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on team development.
* Ordering and stock control.
* Understanding of food preparation and food safety requirements.
* Wages and staff management.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales and operational targets.
* Good understanding of budgeting, stock control, and merchandising principles.
* Proficient in MS Office and retail management/POS systems. Currently running FutureNet.
* Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
* Qualification in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).
