About the Role
This is a dynamic and engaging role as a Sous Chef in a premium dining environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating the efficient operation of the kitchen on a day-to-day basis across a fine dining restaurant and events spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Head Chef by leading and inspiring the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences
* Oversee all food preparation and execution for restaurant and events (100+ pax)
* Champion a positive, respectful, and performance-driven kitchen culture
* Assist with seasonal menu changes that showcase local produce and grill techniques
* Manage kitchen operations, including food costing and supplier relationships
* Recruit, onboard, train and nurture new kitchen staff
* Ensure compliance with food safety and industry standards
* Collaborate with front-of-house and events teams to ensure seamless service
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Proven experience as a Sous chef in fine dining environments
* Expertise in contemporary cooking and grill techniques
* Strong leadership and team-building skills
* A flexible approach to working across a rotating roster, including nights and weekends
* Certificate III or above in Commercial Cookery
* Passion for local produce and hospitality excellence
