Assistant Director of Nursing and Midwifery Education

About this role
Assist in leading and influencing quality nursing and midwifery education, promoting excellence in professional practice, and empowering nurses and midwives in the public health sector.
Key responsibilities
* Serve as expert clinical advisor for educational strategies related to Women's and Children's care.
* Develop and implement educational strategies for maternity and neonatal education programs.
* Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Education and the education team to support clinical staff education and training (undergraduate, graduate, post‐graduate).
Qualifications & experience
* Currently dual registered as Nurse and Midwife, or registered Midwife with AHPRA.
* Post‐registration qualification in education desired but not essential.
* Experience in leadership and management, including coaching and mentoring a team.
* Advanced skills in educational design and implementation.
* Knowledge of contemporary nursing and midwifery workforce challenges and practices.
* Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills; ability to adapt and problem‐solve.
* Compassionate, flexible and positive approach to patient care and management.
* Capacity to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
* Current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
* Proof of current influenza vaccination and other required vaccinations per public health orders.
Professional development & support
Strong encouragement for applicants pursuing a postgraduate qualification in education or working toward a master's degree in a relevant specialty.
