Join Sunwater as a Senior Water Resources Engineer where you'll play a vital role in providing support for hydrologic, hydraulic, and life-loss modelling with a focus on understanding flood risk to downstream communities. This role will develop capability around flood modelling and analysing the potential consequences of flooding in terms of risk to life downstream, whilst also bolstering the current operational team during severe weather events. As a Senior Water Resources Engineer at Sunwater, you will: Provide expert advice on technical recommendations, standards and strategies and take a lead in the in the provision of modelling and analyses for quantifying flood risk and consequences Monitor, report, plan and deliver technical information within a robust risk management and assurance framework that is in accordance with regulatory requirements and takes account of the expectations of stakeholders. Support the organisation with dam safety assessments by analysing flood risk and consequences for both existing conditions and potential design options aimed at reducing the risks. We are seeking a talented individual with a track record in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling concepts, as well as experience and a keen interest in analysing the consequences of flooding in terms of potential life loss. You will hold tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a relatable Engineering field and ideally have experience in flood risk analysis and management related to dam safety. You will also bring: Modelling expertise: Experience in using software such as TUFLOW, URBS, HEC-RAS, and LifeSim Strategic vision: Ability to design and deliver project, program, portfolio improvement strategies and programs Communication skills: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
