Provide electrical support to the Lactalis - Harvey Fresh site to ensure equipment reliability through effective troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
Please note that this position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, across 2 days, 2 nights and 4 consecutive days off.
Key Responsibilities
* Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance on processing, packaging, and cooling/heating systems to prevent breakdowns and improve equipment reliability.
* Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical faults on a wide range of equipment, including machinery, control wiring, and motors, often under time pressure.
* PLC & Automation Systems: Install, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automation systems used in complex manufacturing processes.
* Electrical Installation & Maintenance: Perform installations and repairs of electrical systems, conduit, and components up to 415 V, and maintain complex electrical connections.
* Technical Documentation: Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, prints, and technical drawings.
* Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety policies, LOTO procedures, JSAs, risk assessments, permits to work and WHS/OHS regulations.
* Collaboration: Work with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, implement process improvements, and provide technical assistance.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and electrical system modifications.
* Use of Diagnostic Tools: Operate various electrical test equipment, including multimeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, and meggers.
About You
* Trade qualification
* Advanced problem solving including root cause analysis (5 Why's)
* Knowledge of PLC programming preferred
* Sound knowledge of hazards and emergency procedures
* Knowledge of high-speed equipment (FMCG)
* Previous experience as an industrial electrician
* 3–5 years experience in FMCG manufacturing environment—preferably within Food and Beverage Industry
