We're seeking an experienced Asset Manager to undertake the management of a portfolio of Council's infrastructure assets to ensure they continue to meet the needs of our community now and into the future.
About The Role
As an Asset Manager within our Assets & Delivery team, you will be responsible for implementing Council's asset management framework and delivering best practice, whole of lifecycle management of our civil infrastructure portfolio.
You will provide expert advice to support informed decision‐making around asset investment, renewal and risk, ensuring assets are managed sustainably and in line with legislative, corporate and community expectations.
Working closely with internal stakeholders across planning, project delivery, finance and operations, you will play a key role in linking long‐term asset planning with capital works programs and service delivery outcomes.
What You'll Be Responsible For
* Developing, implementing and continuously improving Council's Asset Management Framework and Plans
* Leading lifecycle planning for civil infrastructure assets (e.g. roads, footpaths, bridges, stormwater) including condition, performance, risk and renewal forecasting
* Ensuring asset data is accurate, reliable and fit for purpose to support evidence‐based decision‐making
* Providing strategic advice to support long‐term financial planning, capital works prioritisation and funding allocation
* Participating in asset valuation, revaluation and depreciation processes in line with accounting standards
* Supporting compliance with relevant legislation, standards and industry best practice in asset management
* Collaborating with internal teams to align asset planning with project delivery and operational maintenance
* Preparing clear, high‐quality reports and briefing material for senior leadership and Council
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of asset management systems, processes and organisational capability
About You
You are a strategic and analytical asset management professional who understands the importance of high‐quality data, sound planning and long‐term thinking. You enjoy working collaboratively across the organisation to influence outcomes and are confident providing advice that balances risk, service levels, affordability and community expectations.
You Will Bring
* Degree qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management, or a related discipline
* Significant experience in civil infrastructure asset management
* Strong working knowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle planning and applicable standards (including ISO 55000)
* Experience managing asset management plans, asset registers and supporting systems
* Sound understanding of long‐term financial planning, asset valuation and renewal funding
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear advice
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
* Experience contributing to organisational improvement initiatives will be highly regarded
