in.cube8r is a proudly independent and creative retail gallery supporting over 150 Australian artists and makers. Since 2007, we've provided a platform for small creative businesses to showcase and sell their handmade work in our two Melbourne stores and online.

About the Role
We're looking for 1–2 experienced retail professionals to join our team in a part-time position (approximately 3 days per week).
This is not an entry-level role — we're seeking someone who can confidently manage store operations, provide excellent customer service, and support our artists ("cubers") with care and professionalism.
Weekend availability is essential, and flexibility to cover occasional weekday shifts is required.
Key Responsibilities
* Opening and closing the store (Melbourne Central and/or Fitzroy)
* Serving customers, processing sales, and wrapping gifts
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and visually appealing store
* Troubleshooting inventory issues and conducting stocktakes
* Assisting cubers with managing product listings and stock records
* Liaising with artists and providing a high level of customer care
* Supporting marketing and admin tasks (social media, product approvals, digital content)
* Working both independently and collaboratively within a small team
About You
You'll thrive in this role if you're proactive, reliable, and love working in a creative retail environment.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* 2+ years' experience in retail or hospitality (or similar fast-paced, customer-facing environment)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Confidence working independently and problem-solving on the spot
* Great attention to detail and ability to multitask
* Experience with stock control, inventory systems, or product management
* A positive, can-do attitude and genuine interest in small business and the creative community
Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience with social media, e-commerce, or marketing tasks
* Creative background or familiarity with handmade products
