About the Company Jorson Technologies Pty Ltd is an Australian private company, established in **** and based in Cannonvale, Queensland .
The company delivers precision manufacturing, advanced design, and engineering solutions across CNC machining, fabrication, laser engraving, additive manufacturing (3D printing), computer simulation, and full-cycle research development.
Jorson supports both internal operations and industry partners by combining hands-on engineering with robust digital and IT infrastructure.
Reliable, secure, and scalable systems are critical to maintaining manufacturing uptime, protecting intellectual property, and supporting design-to-production workflows.
Role Purpose — Computer Networks Systems Engineer (CNSE) The Computer Networks Systems Engineer (CNSE) is responsible for the design, implementation, optimisation, and ongoing management of Jorson's network and core IT systems infrastructure .
This role ensures that on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-connected environments operate securely, efficiently, and with high availability to support manufacturing systems, design platforms, and administrative operations.
The CNSE works across networking, security, systems integration, and operational resilience, acting as a senior technical contributor and escalation point for complex infrastructure matters.
Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade LAN, WAN, wireless, and remote-access infrastructure across Jorson facilities.
Configure, manage, and optimise routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and network security platforms in a multi-vendor environment.
Administer and support network segmentation, VLANs, IP addressing, routing protocols, and traffic optimisation aligned with operational requirements.
Oversee network and systems security, including firewall policies, VPN access, identity-based controls, monitoring, and incident response support.
Integrate and support on-premises infrastructure with cloud platforms and external service providers as required.
Monitor network and system performance, proactively identifying risks, bottlenecks, or capacity constraints.
Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex infrastructure issues, acting as an escalation point when required.
Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, refreshes, and migrations with minimal operational disruption.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, standards, and change records.
Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for critical network and system components.
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and management teams to ensure IT infrastructure aligns with business and production needs.
Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and technology partners for implementation, support, and issue resolution.
Support continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, standardisation, and security hardening where appropriate.
What We Are Looking For Minimum 3 years of professional experience in computer networks, systems engineering, or IT infrastructure roles.
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
Proven ability to operate in multi-vendor environments and manage complex network architectures.
Solid understanding of network security principles, access control, monitoring, and incident response.
Experience supporting business-critical systems where uptime, reliability, and security are non-negotiable.
Comfortable working across both networking and systems domains, rather than being siloed into a single discipline.
Strong troubleshooting mindset — able to diagnose root causes and implement durable solutions.
Clear communicator who can document designs and explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with broader engineering and operations teams.
Willingness to continue developing skills as technologies and business requirements evolve.
Relevant Qualifications Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Industry certifications in networking, systems, or security are highly regarded.
Exposure to cloud networking, automation, or advanced security platforms is considered a strong advantage.
