The Opportunity
Exciting Opportunity to join our Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) as a Research Fellow leading scientific projects in the field of skeletal muscle tissue engineering.
Be part of ARMI's mission to address the unanswered questions with a multi-centre, cross disciplinary and highly focused approach, for the development of innovative clinical protocols as well as the pursuit of rapid commercial transfer of its technologies related to regenerative medicine around key research pipelines; Heart and muscle development and regeneration, Immunity and Regeneration, Stem cells, Cancer and Regeneration and Neural regeneration.
As the Research Fellow you will be responsible for leading scientific projects in the field of skeletal muscle tissue engineering. They will perform cell culture using iPSCs and will rely on spatial transcriptomics to assess intercellular communication at specialized cellular junctions in vivo and in vitro.
To succeed in this role, you will have strong analytical and manuscript preparation skills with a track record of refereed publications, the ability to solve complex problems, and excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to confidentiality and information handling, work collaboratively with colleagues, and show proficiency in Microsoft Office and University software, with a willingness to learn new tools. Experience in iPSC cell culture and differentiation, organ-on-chip technology, biomaterials, muscle biology, and microscopy is essential.
