Please note that this role will be based full‑time on‑site in Woree, Cairns QLD.

The Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced and energetic Supervisor for our Cairns Social Housing project. This role will report to the Site Manager and be responsible for managing works by leading a team to drive effective delivery outcomes, monitoring the construction program in line with the overall project program, and adhering to HSE requirements.


Key Responsibilities

* Project Coordination: Organise and supervise tradespeople, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet project milestones.
* Workforce Supervision: Directing and managing a crew, allocating duties, monitoring attendance, and coordinating tasks to ensure efficiency.
* Quality Assurance: Inspect work to ensure it meets design plans, building codes, and client expectations.
* Safety Oversight: Enforce Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards and conduct regular site safety checks.
* Client Communication: Provide updates to clients and stakeholders and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
* Deliver works to budget, looking for opportunities for efficiency.
* Documentation & Compliance: Manage building permits, council applications, and ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
* Problem Solving: Address on‑site issues promptly, including delays, material shortages, or technical challenges.


Competencies We're Seeking

* Hands‑On Site Experience: Proven experience working on building projects and progressively taking on more responsibility.
* Experience as a Leading Hand, Supervisor or Foreman in the construction industry.
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment, and the ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings.
* Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire your team.
* Exceptional problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions.
* Thorough knowledge of relevant safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance on the worksite.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with necessary parties including public speaking in front of work groups.
* Hold a mandatory safety white card to work on any construction site in Australia.
* Valid Driver's license.
