Based in Baulkham Hills, we are looking for a responsible and experienced individual to join our team as a Laboratory Technician working mainly in the Aggregates Sections. Working as part of a team, this role reports directly to the Aggregates Laboratory Section Head. Duties involve undertaking sampling of construction materials, preparation of test samples, testing and physical analysis of these samples, reporting of test results and maintenance of records. 
**The main responsibilities include**: 
- Conduct testing in accordance with laboratory work instructions, test methods, preparation instructions and manuals. 
- Prescribed calibrations and checks of laboratory test equipment. 
- Maintain, observe, and participate in the statutory Safety requirements of the Laboratory. 
- Maintenance of the Laboratory NATA accreditation requirements. 
- Other duties as directed by the Section Head. 
**Skills and experience**: 
- A commitment to Safety and Quality. 
- Previous laboratory Soils / Aggregates materials testing (desirable but not essential). 
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Science or relevant disciplines e.g. Civil, Chemical or Materials Engineering - (desirable but not essential). 
- Well-developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data (especially Microsoft Word and Excel, or other LIMS). 
- Good time management and organisational skills. 
- An ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines. 
- Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards. 
- Good communication and organisational skills. 
- Strong analytical skills and a customer focus.
