We're looking for a skilled Baker / Pastry Chef / Cook to join our production team. This is a hands-on, production-focused role for someone who values consistency, quality, and working in a well-run commercial kitchen.
You'll be involved across pastry, baking, and cake finishing, supporting both bakery and café operations while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and efficiency.
Tasks may include...
* Mixing and baking pastry and bakery products
* Producing cakes, muffins, pastries, pies, sausage rolls, and fillings
* Preparing basic savoury items such as sauces, chicken, meats.
* Preparing basic custards, sauces, ganache, buttercreams, and other components
* Decorating basic cakes and cupcakes
* Assembling and layering cakes consistently
* Operating commercial equipment including mixers, sheeters, ovens.
* Monitoring bake quality and adjusting oven settings as required
* Meeting daily production targets efficiently
* Maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and organisation in your section
* Managing stock levels and minimising waste
* Completing basic production and quality records

* Strong cake finishing and basic decorating skills
* Excellent attention to detail and pride in presentation
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
* Clear communicator and reliable team member
* Relevant hospitality experience
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
* Savoury pastry production experience (pies, pasties, sausage rolls)
* Confidence with batch baking and production planning
* Experience with laminated doughs
* Confident use of a palette knife for masking, smoothing, and clean finishes
* Skilled use of piping bags for borders and neat, accurate cake writing
* Certificate III or IV in Baking or Patisserie preferred, but relevant experience will be considered
