Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team in Western NSW.

The successful candidate will provide focused psychological strategies tailored to meet the individual needs of people accessing our service within a community-based mental health care setting.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician who is passionate about working with individuals and families to promote positive mental health outcomes.


About The Service

Our service provides a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress.

We offer a range of services including peer-led recovery and clinical support, as well as access to trained mental health professionals outside of a clinical setting.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our team to respond appropriately to the mental health and developmental needs of our clients.


Key Responsibilities

1. Provide focused psychological strategies tailored to meet the individual needs of people accessing our service.
2. Work collaboratively with our team to respond appropriately to the mental health and developmental needs of our clients.
3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, their families, and other stakeholders.
4. Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay up-to-date with best practices in mental health care.


Requirements

* Mandatory registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse, or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
* Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge, expertise, and skill in Brief Intervention Models of Care.
* Commitment to professional development and willingness to participate in continuous learning.
* Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding of assessment and care planning.
* Sound understanding of the public, non-government, and private mental health systems and programs in a community setting.
* Ideal experience in providing alcohol and other drugs (AOD) counselling and support.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness.
* Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively as a member of a team.
* Demonstrated skills in organisation and time-management, including the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks.
* Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
* Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Working with Children Clearance.
* Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance.
