Since 2015 Specialisterne Australia has worked with government departments and business across sectors to provide strategic advice and practical support for the refinement of human resources, operational and customer service practices; mobilise hiring programs that successfully source, place, retain and increase the value of neurodivergent talent; leverage workplace support, mentoring and coaching for employees and their people leaders; and provide tailored education and training.
Our clients in Australia include Westpac, Lendlease, ATO, IBM, Service Australia, Weir Minerals, Coles, Transport for NSW, Harvey Norman, Cummins and EY.
We work with employers to realise the potential of neurodivergent employees and leaders, adopting a more positive attitude towards the talents and skills they bring to the workplace. Our focus is to provide:
* Advisory Services including Neuro-inclusive Workplace Assessments and Benchmarking
* Workplace Supports for neurodivergent employees/managers and their people leaders (including a tailored 'add on' to EAP)
* Hiring initiatives with a 94% retention rate as a result of our approach
* Training and Development.
Job Context
The Neurodiversity Coach is responsible for providing coaching and support to our business and government clients, including neurodivergent employees, managers, and teams. Coaching and support may be provided after an individual has obtained employment through a neurodiversity hiring initiative or to those currently employed.
Post neurodiversity hiring initiative, our service focuses on:
* Enabling neurodivergent employees with skills and confidence to have a smooth and successful transition into their new workplace and develop the skills to succeed within their role and throughout their career.
* Enabling the hiring managers/supervisors to feel skilled and confident in supporting and managing their neurodivergent employees to be successful at work and ensure they adopt inclusive neurodiversity management practices.
* Building sustainable business capacity, embedding inclusive workplace practices in all aspects of their business such as recruitment, staff retention, career progression, culture etc.
Additionally, the Neurodiversity Coach works with employees, managers and teams who are already in employment to help develop neuro-inclusive workplace cultures.
The Neurodiversity Coach provides a range of services including:
* One-to-one coaching with neurodivergent employees
* One-to-one coaching with managers of neurodivergent employees
* Small group coaching with the employee, manager and other key personnel
* Development of Employee Success Profiles
* Neurodiversity awareness training for teams
* Workshops on a range of neurodiversity topics for teams
Role Summary
As a Neurodiversity Coach you will be responsible for providing coaching and support to our business clients, including neurodivergent employees, managers, and teams to build inclusive teams and workplaces. Coaching and support may be provided after an individual has obtained employment through a neurodiversity hiring initiative or to those currently employed.
You will work collaboratively with internal project teams to ensure a positive experience for neurodivergent candidates transitioning into the workplace and those currently employed. You will provide on-going support and education to employees and their people managers to ensure a positive workplace environment for all.
Type of contract: Part-time, casual contract (weekly hours may vary)
Salary: $45.45 per hour
Start date: To be negotiated
Location: Australia-wide work-from-home - virtual support provided

Here’s what you’ll do:
* Coaching and mentoring of neurodivergent employees.
* Supporting new employees to transition into the workplace, including support with onboarding.
* Providing on-going employee coaching whilst in employment to develop skills for success in the workplace.
* Coaching with client managers and supervisors to support the adoption of neuro-inclusive coaching and management skills.
* Development and facilitation of training and education to managers, supervisors, and teams to build neuro-inclusion.
* Working within Specialisterene’s Workplace Support Team to troubleshoot, problem-solve and build upon professional knowledge.
* Preparing high-quality documentation according to Specialisterne’s quality processes.
* Providing regular status updates to the General Manager, Neurodiversity Support & Advisory.
About you:
* You have experience working with or supporting autistic or other neurodivergent individuals.
* You have experience in coaching or mentoring in a workplace context.
* You can build rapport and communicate effectively with neurodivergent employees and managers and develop strong relationships.
* You can provide constructive and insightful solution-focused and action-oriented coaching and feedback to employees and managers to support skill development and capacity building.
* You are comfortable working in a remote team environment and using cloud-based platforms.
* You have flexibility regarding your work schedule, within business hours, Monday to Friday.
* You have Australian Working Rights and are willing to undergo a police check.
* You have qualifications in Coaching, Psychology, Adult Education, Human Resources, Social Work, Disability studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience). A qualification is desirable but not essential.
