About the role
The Locals act as a front door to the mental health service system, providing a continuum of care including clinical interventions, wellbeing supports, and therapeutic support through an integrated mental health and alcohol and other drug framework approach.
We are seeking approachable and resourceful Community Mental Health Practitioners for a permanent part-time role (3 – 4 days per week) working in the Bendigo Loddon Campaspe Local, at the Echuca site. You will work collaboratively with consumers to achieve their wellbeing and recovery goals through telehealth, one-to-one support, and group work facilitation to enhance recovery, personal growth, and daily activities.
Key responsibilities
* Work with consumers to support their recovery and well-being through a staged approach
* Plan and develop group programs to build skills, focus on recovery, and facilitate transition back to the community
* Build relationships and referral pathways to support consumers in living independently in their community
* Contribute to a culturally safe workforce and service environment for staff, consumers, carers, and volunteers from diverse backgrounds
What you'll bring
* Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Community Services, or a related field
* Experience working directly with individuals with mental health issues, AOD challenges, complex needs, and their families and carers
* Skills in assessing needs and collaboratively planning recovery using evidence-informed approaches
* Proven experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, Social Welfare, Housing, Healthcare, or Government sectors
* Ability to plan and prioritize to meet service delivery requirements
