We have an exciting opportunity for a Remarketing & Loss Recoveries Manager to join and lead our collaborative team, based in Mulgrave. The core focus of this role is to maximize Remarketing and Loss Recovery performance through effective management across both Australia and New Zealand portfolios, working closely with internal partners.

As the Remarketing & Loss Recoveries Manager, you will work with the Head of Operations to develop and implement business strategies aimed at maximizing profitability, minimizing write-offs and losses, while driving best-in-class compliance and quality. What you’ll do

- Drive our Auction Partners to achieve the best possible sale prices on all repossessed assets and monitor all operating lease inspections, invoicing and returns
- Manage and communicate the direction and performance of the Remarketing & Recoveries teams to key stakeholders
- Manage the returns and excess charges for all Operating Lease products (standard, EVP & Rental)
- Manage the Agility & Simplicity retailer & brand partner relationships, the return process including inspections, vehicle condition reports, payments and hand-back eligibility, and supporting AutoCheck App, along with all internal reporting requirements
- Digitize/automate all possible systems, processes, and customer communications
- Deliver efficiency gains and productivity improvements which net FTE savings, create redeployment opportunities, or increase return on FTE
- Devise, implement, and deliver against key focus areas including sales performance, stock levels, valuation accuracy, cure rates, net cost of risk, write-offs, shortfall contracts, sale of bad debt including spot sale, minimizing loss rates on delinquent accounts, and managing the cost/relationship of external vendors
- Develop & maintain an effective operating rhythm which balances the mix of team and individual interactions directly, and via Team Leaders with a view to: create a highly engaged, high performing, collaborative team environment; provide best-in-class training, coaching, and personal development for all team members to maximise career development and success planning opportunities
- Maximize profitability through effective management of the Australia & New Zealand Recoveries portfolio
- Ensure all legislative requirements including MBFS (local and global) policies, approval limits, procedures, and legal compliance are fully adhered to, including due diligence and annual audits as necessary
- Communicate and relentlessly drive the strategy and change program with energy, passion, and negotiation to overcome barriers to success
- Act as the SME, or allocate appropriately skilled resources to ensure support and alignment with the wider business change program
- Analyse key business data and customer feedback to create and present recommendations for business improvements
- Partner with the Head of Operations to set targets for performance, efficiency, and customer experience to maximise value for all stakeholders

The skills we’re looking for

- Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience leading a multi-function team with 5 or more direct reports
- A strong interest and knowledge of the automotive sector including managing remarg eting, and auction house partners
- Industry knowledge focusing within the finance, insurance, banking
- A sound working knowledge of the National Consumer Credit Protection, Credit Act, Hire Purchase Act, Privacy Act & Debt Collection Guidelines and Mercantile Agents
- Understanding of both the Motor Vehicle Finance Industry & Used Vehicle Market together with the ability to manage people and daily workflows
- Demonstrated success driving employee engagement, and a best in class customer experience with results
- Sound knowledge of Bankruptcy/Liquidation requirements & Legal procedures
- Demonstrated experience as a Change Manager driving efficiencies, digitization and process improvements
- Demonstrated experience with success coaching, mentoring, and employee development
- Strong understanding of, best practice SLA Management (external & internal) and, ideally, with knowledge of the MBFS strategy, wider departments and their function, understanding Dealer Relationships and how we integrate with the retail network
