Asset Data Officer
Contract: 06 January 2026 to 30 June 2027
About the Opportunity
We are supporting a large Queensland Government division responsible for a statewide asset base valued at more than $40B and a capital works program of around $2B per year.
With more than 1,200 sites and tens of thousands of structures across the state, maintaining accurate and aligned asset data is essential. The team is seeking a detail-focused Asset Data Officer to uplift data quality, maintain the asset register and ensure consistency across key systems including SAP Plant Maintenance, Agresso/OneSchool, BEMIR and related infrastructure registers.
This role is ideal for someone meticulous, organised and confident working across multiple datasets and stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring asset information remains accurate, compliant and reliable by:
* Sourcing, validating and completing missing historical asset information across multiple systems.
* Capturing and updating asset data following completion of infrastructure and capital works projects.
* Maintaining, analysing and presenting asset information for internal and external stakeholder use.
* Developing and embedding improved processes to ensure timely and accurate data capture when changes occur.
* Improving asset data quality to support strategic planning, condition assessments and timely information requests.
* Understanding the interaction between asset and asbestos register data to ensure consistency.
* Conducting regular data accuracy and integrity checks across the asset register.
* Recording asset additions, refurbishments and removals with correct supporting documentation.
* Ensuring compliance with legislative record-keeping requirements, safety obligations and government data standards.
* Collaborating with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders to verify and clarify data.
* Supporting the rollout of an updated asset handover framework.
* Communicating register updates to ensure teams are working with the most current information.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
* Experience working with asset data, infrastructure datasets or facilities-related information.
* Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to data accuracy and consistency.
* Ability to compare data quality across multiple systems and utilise supporting analysis tools.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills, including simplifying complex information for non-technical audiences.
* Confidence working in alignment with government data governance, safety requirements and legislative record-keeping.
* Relevant qualifications in data management, asset management, facilities management or similar (desirable).
* Experience analysing large datasets or generating exception reporting (desirable).
Why This Role Matters
Your work directly supports one of the state's largest infrastructure portfolios — enabling accurate reporting, better planning decisions, and stronger operational outcomes across a complex and high-value asset environment.
