Job Title: Community Development Leader
A key leadership role is available in the Central Region, working with families and communities to create stronger community outcomes where children experience safe, healthy and happy childhoods.
The Department of Children and Families works towards creating stronger communities by collaborating with local stakeholders to deliver evidence-based solutions that promote child wellbeing.
The successful applicant will develop and lead the regional implementation of a new professional practice framework, providing strategic guidance to staff to enhance statutory and non-statutory practice and outcomes for children, young people and their families.
This role requires an Australian tertiary qualification in social work or a related field, as well as strong understanding of supervising staff in welfare services, conducting strength-based assessments, developing effective interventions and applying best practice principles.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, family and community structures, with the ability to communicate and work in a culturally safe manner.
Responsibilities:
