Currently an opportunity exists for a savvy Accounts Payable Officer who thrives on working through complexity to create clarity, communicates effectively and has the knack for taming the financial beast while managing a diverse portfolio.
Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our support office. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our growth and be a part of the transformative journey with us, with a specific emphasis on maintaining internal control standards and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the financial accountant/financial controller and wider finance team.
* Manage end-to-end accounts payable processes, including invoice handling, payments, and staff expenses with accuracy and within expected timeframes.
* Assisting the finance team in maintaining the general ledger transactions.
* Assisting with end of month processes and reconciliations.
* Review and action invoice exceptions, helping internal approvers resolve issues.
* Prepare and record invoices for the authorisation (matching/coding/data entry).
* Reconcile accounts to vendor statements and advise of any discrepancies.
* Prepare payments and bank transfers.
* Prepare AP Report monthly for review by CFO / Finance team.
* Monitoring the accounts payable inbox and relevant queries for multiple venues/stores.
What we're looking for
* At least 2 years' experience in a similar AP role
* Proven commitment to accuracy, deadlines, and best practices
* Strong technology capability and confidence using multiple systems at once (experience in Xero essential) (Ezzybill and Hubdoc experience desired)
* Excellent time management and communication
* Team player with a can-do attitude
* Ability to work with a high volume of complex accounts
* Streamline mindset – able to identify opportunities to improve AP efficiency
