Delaware North Australia is hiring a Commis Chef to join our team at Lizard Island Resort. As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for collaborating with senior chefs to create dishes that make a lasting impression. Responsibilities
* Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting
* Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards
* Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation
* Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
* Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards including conducting temperature and quality checks and effectively managing cross-contamination
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Commis Chef is required and proven experience in an a' la carte restaurant or function service is preferred
* Solid background in kitchen operations
* Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, or willing to obtain at onboarding
* A passion for food and creative flair
* Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labor costs
