About The Role

As a Sales Representative, you will take ownership of a defined territory across the ACT and Southern NSW, managing a diverse customer portfolio spanning construction, earthmoving, civil, and related industries. Your focus will be on capital equipment, technology-enabled solutions, and value-added services that deliver long‐term productivity and operational savings for your clients.

You will develop tailored strategies, nurture key relationships, and actively grow market share by identifying opportunities, solving customer challenges, and positioning WesTrac as the partner of choice. This is a field‐based role with regular travel to customer sites and occasional visits to NSW corporate offices.

This refreshed role aligns with the competitive Canberra market, where equipment‐sales positions frequently emphasise strategy territory ownership, proactive business development, and strong technical product capability.

Key Accountabilities

* Develop and execute sales strategies that align customer needs with WesTrac's premium machinery and technology offerings.
* Manage negotiation, quoting, and closing activity for Caterpillar machinery and connected fleet technologies.
* Partner with customers, Caterpillar, and internal teams to coordinate seamless, high‐value solutions.
* Proactively source prospects, monitor market movements, and develop targeted account plans to support sustained growth.
* Provide accurate activity reports, sales forecasts, and insights to support operational planning.
* Maintain professional standards in safety, compliance, and customer service.

What We're Looking For

* Proven sales capability, ideally in construction, capital equipment, earthmoving, or technical industrial solutions.
* Strong negotiation & influencing skills, with the ability to close high‐value deals and build trust over the long term.
* Key account management experience with measurable growth results.
* Solid commercial and mechanical aptitude — understanding of fleet costs, operational risk, and equipment utilisation.
* Experience with Caterpillar equipment, heavy machinery, or related sectors (highly regarded).
* Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, or a mechanical trade background (advantageous).
* High digital capability with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and quoting platforms.
