About the role

The Risk, Compliance & Reporting Manager will be responsible for identifying, managing and monitoring risk across the business, with a particular focus on service delivery teams, including SIL and community-based supports.

You will lead the organisation's approach to incident management, reportable incidents, case management governance, restrictive practices, behaviour support compliance and Short Term Approval processes. You will work closely with operational leaders, frontline teams, clients, families, behaviour support practitioners and external stakeholders to ensure services are safe, compliant and aligned with best practice.

This role will suit someone who is confident working across both operational and compliance settings. You will need to be comfortable reviewing incidents, identifying patterns, supporting teams to reduce risk, improving systems and ensuring reporting obligations are met within required timeframes.

This role requires regular travel between Focused on Care service locations, including Toowoomba, Brisbane, Warwick and Kempsey, to provide hands‐on support, oversight and engagement with local teams. This may include occasional overnight stays.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

* Leading risk identification, assessment, escalation and mitigation across the organisation
* Maintaining oversight of risk across SIL, STA, in‐home, community support services and Support Coordination
* Managing the organisation's incident and reportable incident processes
* Ensuring reportable incidents are reviewed, documented, escalated and submitted in line with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements
* Supporting managers and frontline teams to respond appropriately to serious incidents, high‐risk situations and safeguarding concerns
* Leading or supporting internal reviews, investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Coordinating complex case management processes for high‐risk clients
* Supporting case reviews, stakeholder meetings and risk planning for participants with complex needs
* Providing oversight of Positive Behaviour Support Plans, implementation requirements and related documentation
* Supporting compliance with restrictive practice requirements, including documentation, consent, authorisation and reporting
* Managing or coordinating Short Term Approval processes for restrictive practices where required
* Ensuring relevant Queensland and New South Wales state‐based restrictive practice requirements are understood and followed
* Monitoring compliance trends and preparing reports for senior leadership
* Maintaining risk registers, incident registers, compliance trackers and related reporting tools
* Providing practical guidance, coaching and support to operational teams
* Contributing to continuous improvement, audit readiness, policy review and quality systems
* Building a culture of safe, person‐centred, compliant and accountable service delivery

About you

You will be an experienced risk, compliance, quality, incident management, behaviour support or disability services professional who understands the realities of frontline service delivery.

You will have strong judgement, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with people at all levels of the organisation. You will be able to interpret compliance requirements and turn them into clear, practical actions for teams.

You will also bring a calm, solution‐focused approach to complex situations and be confident supporting teams through incidents, escalations, investigations and high‐risk client matters.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Demonstrated experience in a similar risk, compliance, quality, safeguarding, incident management or senior disability services role
* Strong understanding of NDIS provider obligations, including incident management, reportable incidents and quality and safeguarding requirements
* Strong understanding of Queensland and New South Wales state‐based restrictive practice requirements

* Good understanding of regulated restrictive practices and associated documentation, consent, authorisation and reporting requirements
* Good understanding of the Short Term Approval process for restrictive practices
* Ability to interpret legislation, rules, standards, policies and procedures and apply them in a practical service delivery environment
* Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare incident reports, compliance reports, case notes, briefings and recommendations
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work with operational leaders, support teams, families, practitioners and external agencies
* High level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and sensitive matters
* Strong computer literacy and confidence using systems, registers and reporting tools
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or ability to obtain
* Blue Card, or ability to obtain
* Willingness to travel, including potential overnight trips
* Right to work in Australia
* Experience working for a registered NDIS provider
* Experience in Supported Independent Living, community support, Short Term Accommodation or complex disability support environments
