Job Description
Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Typist to join their busy medical practice. This is a temporary position, ideal for someone with strong medical terminology knowledge and excellent typing skills who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
* Transcribing dictated audio files into accurate medical letters and clinical reports
* Editing and proofreading documents to ensure correct spelling, grammar, and use of medical terminology (e.g., IVF, ICSI, OHSS, AMH, HyCoSy, Hysterosalpingogram, azoospermia)
* Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with privacy laws and legislation
* Managing and updating electronic and paper-based patient records using systems such as Genie
* Liaising with clinicians, nurses, and administrative staff to clarify dictation, verify patient details, and resolve discrepancies
* Managing a high volume of audio transcripts, prioritising tasks, and ensuring timely distribution of letters to patients, GPs, and external specialists
Qualifications
* Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology
* Fast and accurate typing skills words per minute)
* Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and spelling
* Previous experience in a medical transcription or healthcare administrative role
* Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
