Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader – Mechanical, the Mechanical Fitter Apprentice will work as part of the maintenance team while completing a structured apprenticeship and on‐the‐job training program.
This role is based in Collie in WA's South West, surrounded by the picturesque views of the surrounding jarrah forest, hills and farmlands, and a 45 minute drive from the beautiful town and beaches of Bunbury.
As the Mechanical Fitter Apprentice, you will:
* Assist with mechanical maintenance activities across plant and equipment under supervision
* Learn preventative maintenance routines, inspections and basic fault finding
* Support repairs, overhauls and component replacements as directed
* Follow all safety, health and environmental procedures, including participating in risk assessments and JSAs
* Learn the safe use of tools, equipment and systems required for mechanical maintenance
* Assist with maintenance documentation, checklists and records
* Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance and engineering teams
About you:
* Completion of Year 10 or Year 12 (or equivalent)
* A genuine interest in pursuing a Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship
* Willingness to learn and develop skills in a power generation environment
* Strong commitment to safety and following procedures
* Reliable, motivated and able to work as part of a team
* Good communication skills and basic computer literacy
* Ability to meet pre‐employment medical and police check requirements
* Mechanical pre‐apprenticeship training is advantageous but not essential
