Senior Business Analyst – Commodities Trading Systems Location: Melbourne Contract: 12‑Month Fixed Term We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a major institutional bank's front-office trade lifecycle project. This role will shape how commodity trades are captured, processed, and managed across global markets. It is an exciting opportunity to deliver significant business impact by enhancing the commodities trading experience through Murex version migration, designing user-friendly trader journeys, and ensuring that future commodity trades are accurate and secure—ultimately contributing to the bank's bottom line. What you'll do Analyse pre‑trade activities to support smarter trading decisions. Design user‑friendly trading screens that improve efficiency and accuracy. Develop and refine deal masks to capture critical trade details. Manage event flows to ensure trades move seamlessly through the lifecycle. Drive system integration between internal platforms and external exchanges/clearing houses for straight‑through processing. Non‑Negotiable Skills & Experience Strong commodities product knowledge MUST (metals, energy, agriculture). Deep understanding of asset classes including physical and financial derivatives. Front office trading workflow expertise – pre‑trade analysis, booking, and lifecycle management. Screen design & user experience skills – ability to create intuitive, efficient interfaces. Deal mask development expertise – ensuring accurate trade capture. Event flow management – proven ability to oversee trade events end‑to‑end. Integration experience – mapping and connecting external trading/clearing platforms with in‑house systems.
