Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating high-quality baked goods and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dough Preparation and Handling: The successful applicant will be responsible for mixing and preparing dough from scratch using fresh ingredients, kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, and shaping dough for various bread and pastry products.
2. Baking Process Management: They will be required to monitor oven temperatures and adjust baking times to ensure optimal product quality, coordinate the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of batches of bread, rolls, and pastries.
3. Equipment and Workplace Maintenance: The chosen candidate will be responsible for checking the cleanliness of equipment and the operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, operating machines that roll and mould dough, emptying, cleaning, and greasing baking trays, tins, and other baking equipment, maintaining a clean and hygienic working area.
4. Product Quality and Consistency: Ensuring products are baked to high-quality standards, focusing on consistency in appearance and taste, conducting quality checks on raw materials and finished products to maintain high standards.
5. Production Planning and Efficiency: Planning and following the daily production schedule, starting from early-morning dough preparation, optimizing the use of equipment and resources to maintain production efficiency.
6. Marketing and Product Innovation: Participating in the development of new products and recipes, focusing on seasonal and specialty items, supporting marketing initiatives by preparing products for special campaigns and promotional events.
