Job Title: Associate, Global Banking & Markets, Corporate Advisory, ECM
We are seeking a highly skilled Associate to join our Sydney office in the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Group within Corporate Advisory. This role will provide an opportunity to work closely with public and private companies, financial sponsors, venture capital firms, and entrepreneurs to originate, structure, and execute equity financings such as initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, and block trades.
This is a mission-critical equity financing role where you will play a vital part throughout the entire transaction process, including project management for ECM transactions. You will have the opportunity to develop content for meetings with clients regarding their strategy and potential capital market transactions, as well as regular market updates.
Key Responsibilities:
* Originate, lead and execute equity capital market transactions for corporate and financial sponsor clients
* Develop strategic content for client meetings and market updates
* Liaise with internal and external parties to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
* Coordinate live equity offerings, including bookbuilds and settlement / operational flow
* Provide mentorship and oversight to junior team members
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years' relevant work experience within ECM, Capital Markets, or related area
* Strong interest in and understanding of equity markets
* Exceptional multi-tasking, time management and communication skills
* Highly organized with a solid work ethic, motivation level, and strong attention to detail
* Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities
* Capacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact
* Well-rounded academic background from a top tier institution
* Understanding of transaction cycles and the steps in the process
* Demonstrate maturity to work with all levels of professionals across the firm and external clients
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and possess good judgment to make quick and complex decisions
* Strong analytical skills and quantitative and technical abilities
