MiningMaintenance Superintendent | Greenfield Mine Development | FIFO Expat Role
Opportunity knocks for an experienced Mining Maintenance Superintendent to work on a landmark APAC 'mega project', and at the greenfield stage. Offering the rare opportunity to be involved prior to production, the Mining Maintenance Superintendent is a senior leadership position responsible for the lifecycle management, reliability, and mechanical availability of a large-scale mining fleet and infrastructure. A critical component of this role is the training, mentoring, and development of the national workforce to ensure long-term operational sustainability.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Execute a "Zero Harm" strategy, ensuring 100% compliance with international and Australian mining safety standards.
* Establish in collaboration with learning and development team a formal coaching program to transition 11kV electrical shovel fleet and ultra class mining equipment and mechanical tasks to the local workforce.
* Maintain >90% uptime for Komatsu 4100XPC/PC7000 units to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
* Maintain >90% uptime Oversee and manage OEMs to lead excellence in haul truck maintenance of Komatsu Ultra" Class haulage fleet 980E
* Identify and train local "Super-Users" in SAP/CMMS for data-driven maintenance planning.
* Control the maintenance budget, targeting a reduction in "Cost per Hour" for the CAT D11/D10 fleet.
* Ensure zero unplanned downtime for the 11kV network, work with electrical team on planning, cable repair and associated support equipment reliability.
* Lead technical investigations into major component engine or motor failures to prevent recurrence.
* Design and enforce a world-class "5S" workshop environment for local technical teams. Foster cleanliness state of mind.
* Utilize CAT Mine Star or Komatsu data to monitor operator behavior and machine health.
* Oversee statutory and operational NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) on shovel booms and dozer frames to detect fatigue early.
* Oversee and collaborate with the OEMS to optimize standard task execution and precise planning of Shutdown and PCR programs.
* Foster a respectful, high-performance culture that bridges international standards with local customs.
Qualifications and Experience
* Deep Industry Expertise: Minimum of 20+ years of hands‐on experience in a metalliferous mining environment, with a proven track record in high‐tonnage operations.
* Mechanical trade background.
* Analytical Mastery: Strong technical background in FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to drive continuous improvement and asset reliability.
* International Experience: Previous expat experience is mandatory, demonstrating the ability to adapt to complex logistical, social, and operational environments.
* Mentoring Excellence: Must possess extreme patience and a solid mentoring approach, with a genuine passion for transferring knowledge to the Pakistan national workforce.
