This is an on-site position that involves working under general supervision while exercising initiative, sound judgement, and independence in managing complex and sensitive cases.You will guide clients through some of the most challenging periods of their lives, offering psychosocial support, safety planning, advocacy, and structured case management tailored to their individual needs. The role requires a compassionate yet highly professional approach, working closely with families, schools, community resources, and inter-regional team members to strengthen support networks and promote long-term safety and wellbeing. Your work will contribute to empowering clients, especially children and young people, to heal, build resilience, and regain confidence through practical assistance, therapeutic interventions, and education around healthy relationships.In this role, you will maintain accurate case records, uphold strict privacy standards, collaborate with external service providers, and participate in continuous learning and development. With opportunities for mentoring, interregional connection, and meaningful community impact, the role offers personal and professional growth while helping create lasting positive change.**Your Key Responsibilities*** Provide targeted, non-clinical mental health and psychosocial support to children, young people (12–25 years), and families experiencing or exposed to family and domestic violence.* Deliver holistic, strengths-based case management, including developing, implementing, and regularly reviewing individualised case plans and safety plans.* Conduct assessments, intake processes, and suitability evaluations, ensuring all documentation and data entry requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner.* Offer 1:1 client support through a mix of office-based services, home visits, and community-based engagement in safe, appropriate environments.* Facilitate referrals, advocacy, and coordination with internal and external services to connect clients with housing, financial, health, cultural, legal, and community supports.* Maintain detailed records, reports, goal plans, statistics, and case documentation aligned with privacy, safety, and organisational requirements.* Engage in community outreach, events, and education initiatives to promote the service, strengthen networks, and support early intervention efforts while collaborating with regional teams, including Midwest colleagues.**Requirements for Success*** A Degree or Diploma in Social Welfare, Social Science, Youth Work, Community Services, or related field, with at least one to two years of experience in family and domestic violence, youth work, or case management.* Demonstrated trauma‐informed practice capability, including experience supporting children and young people exposed to FDV, and the ability to quickly and effectively assess client needs.* Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, protocols, and community dynamics, with the ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal young people, families, and communities.* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with adaptability to diverse audiences, and confidence working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.* Local knowledge, established community connections, and the ability to build strong networks across services, schools, families, and cultural groups.* High level of resilience, flexibility, and innovation, with confidence navigating ambiguity and complexity while maintaining professional judgement and boundaries.* Strong administrative, organisational, and report‐writing skills, including accurate data entry, time management, and the ability to manage a caseload of 15–20 clients over longer-term engagement periods.* First Aid & CPR Certificate is required.* Full driver licence with no restrictions.Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.**Your Benefits**To ensure our employees feel valued, empowered, and celebrated, we provide a range of employee benefits including:* Rewarding work – every day you know you're making a real difference* Not-for-profit salary packaging, reducing your tax (details via )* Free external, confidential counselling and access to .* Volunteering opportunities* Extra leave available including an additional public holiday, additional annual leave day on your work anniversary and the opportunity to purchase further annual leave.* Pilbara Remote Benefits include:* Additional $1,000 each year to assist with cost of living in a remote area* 5 weeks Annual leave* Access to up to 5 additional days Personal/Carers leave each year* Rental Assistance of up to $200 per week* Relocation allowance of $1,500 to assist in moving to the area**Our Culture**Our innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.We prioritise the safety and wellbeing of everyone, both within our team and the individuals we serve.We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.
