Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient and professional management of the Operations of QYC vessels and day to day management and rostering of Operations staff.
To ensure that the office, it's activities, technology, personnel, and day-to-day efficiency continue to work well within the overall aim of achieving business objectives and upholding Company Policies and Values.
Effectively manage the scheduling of maintenance and repairs and contracted tradesmen. Report to and liaise with the QYC General Manager, Boat Owner's, Charter and Office Manager, Reservations Staff and Accounts Admin in all aspects of administration relating to Operations, Boat Management, Suppliers and Creditors.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Core objectives include:
• Coordinate and delegate maintenance personnel work activities and the activities of contracted tradesmen in line with strategic business goals and assist and oversee all works as necessary.
• Coordinate, plan and execute workflow activities within the Operations department and communicate with Reservations, Office Admin and the Cleaning Supervisor to facilitate the clear communication and co-ordination of Charter and Vessel management and movement daily.
Update the Ops Board daily.
• Regularly review the performance of Operations Staff and reporting and management of Company assets. Maintain regular staff meetings.
• Oversee and implement the training and management of Junior Staff in consultation with the Operations Supervisor.
• Provide thorough and accurate reports on the activities performed within the business.
• Ensure workplace materials and documentation are maintained in line with legal obligations and best practice standards.
• Regularly review and implement changes to various forms of documentation.
• Manage all third-party communication and technology queries and networking.
• Regulation compliance & survey.
• Workplace Health & Safety – in line with legal obligations and best practice.
• Commercial Marine Industry - liaison, compliance, and reporting
• GBRMPA – liaison, compliance, and reporting.
• AMSA – liaison, compliance, and reporting.
• Hands-on operations when required.
• Chase Calls if required.
• Boat Owner liaison and reporting, Insurance.
• Maintain all storage areas and Ops Office area and ensure all areas are clean, tidy, and well organised; and all company equipment and assets are always maintained and in good working order.
• Ensure that all reporting and purchasing is conducted within company policy.
• Implementation, management, and training of the DYW Maintenance and Operations APP.
• Creating Incident Reports in regard to Vessel Damage/ Incidents from Charter Guests.
• Manage and advise on Customer Complaints in consultation with Reservations, Office Admin and Management.
Other Duties:
Work in unison with all departments to ensure clear communication.
Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required and could include but is not restricted to:
Will be responsible for manning Operations Phone on call overnight.
on a rotational basis with Ops Supervisor.
May be required to work on weekends on a rotational roster.

Qualifications:
• Recreational Boat License / Coxswain 2/3 / Elements of Shipboard Safety
• Bareboat Briefing Operations / Marine Radio Operator's License /
• Master 5 or similar Sailing Qualifications and experience is an asset
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Must hold a current Australian Driver's License
• Proficient in Word, Excell, Outlook, Google – Email, G-Suite/Drive/Sheets
• Zoho CRM, NauSYS are the Platforms in use for DYW and training will be provided
Experience:
• It would be preferred that the employee will have at least 5 years minimum experience in a similar role within the marine industry.
• Must have extensive knowledge in all aspects of boating, sailing, marine/vessel maintenance, and all regulatory requirements for the bareboat industry skills & competencies.
Knowledge:
• The employee will have the knowledge required to undertake the duties in a confident and efficient manner. It would be expected that the employee will be willing to undertake any additional training
required to perform in the position.
