As one of Queensland's earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: to conserve and advance our natural and cultural heritage for future generations.

As we continue to welcome visitors to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and share our conservation story - we have an opportunity for a passionate, energetic, and experienced Wildlife Officer – Reptile Keeper to support our dedicated Wildlife team and connect with our animals and visitors.


About the Role

Reporting to the Supervisor – Reptiles and Amphibians, we are seeking a professional applicant who will work alongside our Wildlife team and will be involved in duties such as but not limited to: managing animal husbandry, health and welfare, record keeping and enclosure maintenance. We are seeking professional applicants who will be energetic, enthusiastic and have a high level of general wildlife knowledge and professional customer service skills. This is a part time role (34 hours per week) working a Friday - Tuesday roster so weekend availability is needed.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care. You will have the ability to work independently and provide accurate daily updates and reports as required. Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:

* Can deliver a high level of friendly customer service to all visitors
* Be prepared to work in an outdoor environment, in all weathers, in a role that requires substantial walking
* High level of energy, communication, and teamwork skills
* Flexible and reliable with a positive 'can do' attitude in our team environment
* Ability to carry/support up to 10kg for a prolonged period
* Prepared to complete all necessary training and immunisations as may be required for this role
* Flexible and availability to work across weekends and school holiday holidays
