About the role
We are looking for an Engagement Coordinator to support the work of the RACS Tasmania State Office. This role plays an important part in building strong connections with Fellows, trainees and stakeholders across Tasmania, and in ensuring the smooth coordination of events, committees and day-to-day office activities.
Working closely with the ACT/Victoria/Tasmania Manager and the Tasmanian State Committee, you will provide committee secretariat support, coordinate local professional events, and deliver high-quality administrative and member support. This role requires a mix of organisation, communication and initiative, and some after-hours work will be required to support events and meetings.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating local events, professional development activities and meetings
Providing committee and secretariat support, including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking
Supporting the Tasmanian Chair and Committee with advocacy activities and stakeholder engagement
Delivering day-to-day administration and high-quality support to members and stakeholders
About the team
The RACS Tasmania team provides dedicated, locally informed support to Fellows and trainees across the state. The team works closely with the broader College to deliver engagement, education, examinations and professional events, while also supporting advocacy and strong relationships with government and health sector partners. As a small team, we value collaboration, reliability and a practical, supportive approach to our work.
About you
You bring experience supporting committees and organising events, along with strong communication and organisational skills. You are comfortable working independently, manage your time well, and take pride in producing accurate, well-presented work.
You will also have:
Experience preparing meeting agendas and taking accurate minutes
Experience coordinating or supporting events
Clear and confident verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
The ability to work with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities
Flexibility to work some after-hours as required
Experience working in a member-based, government or not-for-profit organisation will be highly regarded.
This role is 0.6 FTE, 22.5 hours per week that can be worked flexibly across the week.
