VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join our clients' business in Melbourne. Our client, Envision Consulting Partners, is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team, with strong communication skills.
Position Objectives:
To architect, implement, and maintain robust IT network and systems infrastructure across both client and internal environments, ensuring alignment with business goals, security standards, and performance requirements.
To play a critical role in delivering resilient, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure solutions by proactively managing systems, resolving complex issues, and supporting the seamless integration of hardware, software, and network technologies across diverse enterprise settings.
Key Responsibilities:
-Translate business and technical requirements into system architecture and design documents. Develop and refine infrastructure blueprints and data models to ensure scalability and security in system implementations.
-Evaluate and benchmark network and systems infrastructure to maintain peak performance. Recommend technical improvements aligned with best practices to enhance reliability and efficiency.
-Conduct regular traffic and usage analysis to anticipate and address capacity issues. Monitor system health and ensure infrastructure supports business continuity and future growth.
-Provide expert-level support in resolving critical network and systems issues. Lead root cause analysis during outages and ensure robust recovery procedures are in place.
-Install, configure, and upgrade network hardware, middleware, servers, and workstation environments to meet evolving client demands.
-Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to support network functions and streamline recurring operational tasks based on specific client requirements.
-Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, incident logs, network assets, and change control processes to ensure operational transparency and compliance.
-Implement and enforce system security protocols. Perform regular updates, patching, and enhancements to ensure consistent protection and optimal function of infrastructure components.
Performance Appraisal: Three months after the starting date, then half yearly or when required.
Qualification & Experience:
Required:
-Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
-Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in system and network engineering.
-Strong command of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF).
-Proficiency with enterprise operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
-Working knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
-Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Remuneration:
$95k + Superannuation
