About the Role
Gemco Rails is seeking a Trades Assistant to join our Karratha site. We are a dynamic rail operations team and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of rolling stock across both depot and field environments. You will provide assistance to trade staff in maintenance, manufacture and refurbishment of associated rail rolling stock, in accordance with the established procedures and protocols Rail Safety and OH&S regulations, contributing to a secure and efficient rail network.
This role will report to Karratha Site Supervisor.

About You
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Ability to meet Rail Safety Worker Category 3 fitness standards.
* Proven experience working with rolling stock and railway equipment.
* Strong understanding of Occupational Health & Safety regulations and commitment to safe work practices.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document inspections and interact confidently across teams.
* Well-developed organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.
* Hold a High-Risk Work Licence
* Completion of all required paperwork in a diligent, accurate and timely manner
