Public Sector People (PSP) is seeking a Category Manager to engage in a 12 Month Contract with Local Council located in Sydney. We are looking for someone who has tender and RFQ experience as well to be able to manage contracts.
- $500-600 daily rate (dependent on experience)
- 12 -Month Temporary Contract
**What you'll deliver**
- Facilitate efficient vendor management, ensuring best practice tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and selection. Oversee ongoing monitoring and management of external vendors across council, ensuring effective management of all consultants, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Lead contract and procurement processes for nominated projects, ensuring the delivery of client objectives and compliance with NSW government and procurement project requirements.
- Coordinate the development of Contract Management Plans including strategic reviews, contractor performance, supplier relationships, contract variations, price variations, contract options, KPIs, and benefits tracking. Ensure contracts are managed consistently and in line with NSW Govt procurement standards.
- Identify value for money opportunities and deliver significant commercial outcomes in line with strategic objectives
- Develop, co-ordinate and manage multiple complex projects and resources effectively to achieve work goals and meet deadlines and commitments
- Contract extensions and sourcing for new tenders
**What you'll bring**
- Extensive experience in strategic contract management, procurement, tendering, category management and an understanding of current legislations and standards.
- Fleet and equipment category knowledge
- Strong influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with demonstrated experience in achieving effective business outcomes.
- Local Government experience will be highly desirable
