About the Role
This position requires strong legal knowledge of information and data law issues, as well as experience managing Freedom of Information requests and ensuring compliance with privacy obligations.
* Act as FOI decision maker for access requests, internal reviews, and OAIC reviews under the Freedom of Information Act.
* Provide practical, timely legal advice on privacy matters in regulatory and operational contexts.
* Design and embed privacy-by-design solutions in projects, including those involving emerging technology and data analytics.
* Guide internal teams on Privacy Impact Assessments and develop regulatory guides.
Requirements
We are seeking a qualified lawyer with approximately 5-7 years' post-admission experience relevant to information and data law. You must possess excellent analytical and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
You Will Also Demonstrate
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
* Knowledge of the Corporations Act, ASIC Act, Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act, and related legislation.
* A high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
