Community Enterprise Queensland (CEQ) is seeking a passionate
Store Nutritionist
to join our Nutrition & Health team. Based in Cairns, this unique role offers the opportunity to travel regularly to the Torres Strait Islands and remote mainland communities across North Queensland, working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team members and community members to create healthier food environments.
You'll play a key role in the exciting new First Nations Nutrition Workforce Program, funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA). This cutting-edge initiative is building a local First Nations nutrition workforce to transform food retailing practices in remote communities — a truly innovative program at the forefront of public health.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Mentor and train First Nations Good Food People trainees.
Deliver nutrition education and promote healthier food choices in remote stores.
Collaborate with store managers, merchandise teams, and local health organisations to improve food environments.
Support community based campaigns like Healthy Ways, including cooking demonstrations, taste-testing, and recipe development.
Develop digital health promotion materials to inspire healthier living.
Conduct store assessments and provide expert nutrition advice.
A degree in Nutrition Science and/or Dietetics (mandatory).
Experience in public health nutrition, ideally with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Strong communication skills across diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
Ability to work in a cross-cultural team environment.
Passion for mentoring and building capacity in others
Willingness to travel and work in remote communities.
Current Criminal History check (no more than 3 months old).
Desirable Qualifications
Postgraduate qualifications in Public Health, experience in remote regions, training roles, or retail/food service.

CEQ team members will complete an Annual Performance Partnership (APP), which is a structured performance and professional development discussion which relates to KPI's aligned with the Strategic Priorities of the business and the CEQ values.
